Lisa O is outgoing, outspoken, spontaneous and madly in love with living life! As a communicator, motivator and host of her podcast 'Rappers in my Backyard', these attributes lead to a positive team spirit. 

 

She is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and now lives in Los Angeles. Lisa attended UCLA to obtain a major in Women’s Studies with an emphasis in Media Literacy. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and graduated with honors (magna cum laude).

Lisa finds pleasure in painting a picture through words and recognized at an early age that words have power.  This encouraged her to pursue a career as a Hip-Hop rapper MC Roshae. She was signed to Columbia Records and then to Tone Loc’s label Loc-Town Records.

Her manager/husband is an executive producer for several Hip-Hop artists and built a recording studio in their backyard.  Lisa would say "I always got rappers in my backyard," a phrase that ultimately became the name of her podcast "Rappers in my backyard".

 

The format of the show relates to relationships and how important they are in learning about yourself.  Lisa O coined four words as the bridge in forming relationships: Talk, Express, Relate, Connect which provide the foundation and overall experience of the show!
